TerraVin Cellars

About Us

Founded in the heart of Palisade, Colorado, TerraVin Cellars began with a passion for crafting exceptional wines. Over the years, we have celebrated numerous milestones, from our first harvest to becoming a beloved destination for wine enthusiasts.

TerraVin Statement

Our wines honor the essence of the Grand Valley.

Our Roots

Our philosophy is rooted in the simple truth that from the earth, comes wine. We blend old and new world techniques, vinifying honest, dynamic expressions of our unique terroir.

Local Terroir

Our wines are a true reflection of the Grand Valley’s unique terroir. Sourced from vineyards along the Colorado River and high atop East Orchard Mesa, our grapes thrive at elevations ranging from 4,000 to 4,700 feet. This dramatic landscape, coupled with intense sunlight and the south-facing Book Cliffs’ natural reflectivity, creates ideal conditions for Rhone and Bordeaux varietals. The result: wines with vivid color, bold flavor, vibrant acidity, and a structured tannin profile that speaks to the region’s distinct character.

Sustainability

At the heart of our farming philosophy is a deep commitment to sustainability. We employ practices that balance environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and long-term viability. From conserving water and energy to preventing soil erosion, we’re dedicated to preserving the land. Our use of cover crops promotes biodiversity, suppresses weeds naturally, and reduces the need for herbicides. With every decision, we aim to leave the land healthier for future generations of growers and the wines yet to come.

Our Winemaker

Corey Norsworthy

Corey Norsworthy is an accomplished winemaker and viticulturist, currently serving as the winemaker and co-owner for TerraVin Cellars in Palisade, Colorado.

Originally from Australia, his experience spans winemaking in prestigious regions such as Loire Valley and Bordeaux in France, as well as Adelaide Hills and Barossa Valley in Australia and Marlborough in New Zealand. Corey has helped build TerraVin cellars, where his profound understanding of vineyards and winemaking has played a pivotal role in shaping the wineries future.

Growing up in Adelaide, nestled between Australia’s best wine regions, Corey developed a taste and passion for great wine. Starting in the year 2000, he gained experience with seasonal vineyard and cellar jobs around Australia and New Zealand. His thirst for knowledge continued with a Major in Wine Marketing and a minor in Winemaking from Adelaide University, and completing level 3 wine studies through The Wine & Spirits Education Trust.

In 2010, he started his own consulting business, assisting wineries with marketing, winemaking, and vineyard practices. Corey quickly gained a reputation for producing high-quality wines with every winery he represented. In the fall of 2010, Corey traveled to France to consult with Jacques Lurton’s Selection, working in Loire Valley and Bordeaux.

Using an unconventional approach to winemaking, Corey has helped elevate the region with bold and expressive wines that push boundaries but also emphasizes terroir-driven wines with elegance and finesse. Both styles have garnered attention for their uniqueness and high-quality craftsmanship, while emphasizing a balance between innovation and tradition with grapes sourced from Colorado’s premier vineyards.

The success of TerraVin Cellars is a testament to Corey’s deep knowledge of viticulture, his global experience, and his passion for creating wines that are as distinctive as they are enjoyable.
